In Goldsboro, North Carolina, a 12-year-old young man grabbed a gun and shot a masked home invader who had shot his grandmother. Proving himself a better home protector than any pacifist beta male, the young man’s actions caused the intruders to flee with great haste. Not long after, one of them died of his wound.

The family told WRAL that the masked goblins demanded cash from the 73-year-old woman. After they were told there was no cash in the home, they shot her in the leg.

That’s when the young man accessed the family firearm and showed the bag guys that their masks didn’t make them bulletproof. He shot the intruder who had shot his grandmother.

From WRAL:

According to officials, a 12-year-old boy shot and killed a home intruder in self-defense after two armed suspects broke into a Goldsboro home and shot a 73-year-old woman.

Officials said two masked subjects forced their way into the 73-year-old Linda Ellis’ residence, demanding money. At least one of the suspects, identified as 19-year-old Khalil Herring, was armed – and allegedly shot Ellis.

“A 12-year-old juvenile occupant of the residence shot at the suspects with a firearm in self-defense, causing them to flee the area,” wrote officials in a statement.

Goldsboro police discovered Ellis in her apartment with a gunshot wound. She was taken to Wayne UNC Health Care, where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Herring should have chosen a safer, more productive profession than robbing people in their own homes to earn money. Meanwhile, the heroic 12-year-old will have to live with what happened for the rest of his life.

This story should stand as a clear reason why states and the federal government should not criminalize access to firearms for young people. Self-defense isn’t just for adults.

While the Civilian Disarmament Industrial Complex and their media enablers can’t stand to hear it, the only thing that stops bad people like Khalil Herring and his friends are good guys (and gals) with guns. What’s more, firearms remain the great equalizer that allows the very young and the very old to successfully defend themselves against stronger predators…of which there’s one less in North Carolina.
