An alleged robber took on the wrong store recently, the SO Cal Smoke Shop in Barstow, California. The robbery turned fatal when the smoke shop clerk shot the armed intruder several times Jan. 6, ultimately killing the suspect.
Smoke Shop Clerk Fights Back
Police said officers arrived on the scene, finding a male subject suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Officers rendered first aid and CPR, but officials pronounced the suspect dead on the scene.
The incident began when the unidentified suspect allegedly entered the store and produced a handgun. He allegedly pointed it at the clerk, demanding money and property. But at some point during the robbery, police say the employee managed to retrieve a handgun. He reportedly then opened fire on the suspect. One can only imagine the speed and chaotic nature of the incident.
The police report failed to reveal very much information on the incident. But it stands as an example of just how random and quickly acts of violence can occur. In a store setting, every time the door opens, trouble could be walking through. So when it comes to protecting yourself and those you love, carrying concealed, and being as highly trained as possible, is the best insurance one can provide for themselves.
